Hello all my name is Paul Goddard and I am from Munster, Indiana, just outside of Chicago. I am 32 years old and the father of two beautiful kids Alexis and Jacob. I work in Chicago as a Crane Operator.I have a huge passion for weather that started around the age of 12. The adrenaline pumped through my veins as the dark clouds and claps of thunder in the distance but stuck in the house looking out the window.. When I was 15 I was struck by lightning riding in my dads car, while sleeping against the window on a long drive home one night from a family party. Needless to say it was scary. I came out the ER with a burn, bloody nose and an erratic heart beat that went away after a few hours, thanks to the lightning bolt splitting in two on the power pole next to the car. After years of sitting on the porch watching storms roll in and riding them out in the neighbors gazebo. I learned I can do what I love and do a public service for the NWS by spotting. No the lightning did not scare me away from it, only made me more into storms then ever.
I started taking MetEd classes online and started my courses to become an Advanced Skywarn Spotter for KLOT in Chicago. I have completed a long list of MetEd classes in weather and radar. Training also with FEMA for Incident Command.
My plans now are to work my way around the country to experience a little bit of everything. My goal, as always, is to provide warning to the public via NWS and get great storm photography and video. Enjoy! My web site is www.stormviewlive.com
